Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

I love seafood and I'm always looking for new ways to cook it. It is also very nutritious for you. One of my favorite places to find new recipes is on Allrecipes.com. You can find pretty much anything on that site and many different variations. Most of the recipes also list the nutrition facts at the bottom of the recipe. This Tilapia recipe only has 203 calories and 11.4g of fat per serving.

Ingredients
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon celery salt
2 pounds tilapia fillets

Directions
Preheat your oven's broiler. Grease a broiling pan or line pan with aluminum foil.

In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Season with dried basil, pepper, onion powder and celery salt. Mix well and set aside.

Arrange fillets in a single layer on the prepared pan. Broil a few inches from the heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the fillets over and broil for a couple more minutes. Remove the fillets from the oven and cover them with the Parmesan cheese mixture on the top side. Broil for 2 more minutes or until the topping is browned and fish flakes easily with a fork. Be careful not to over cook the fish.

  1. I have never been huge on healthy eating, mainly because it never occurs to me. But the fajitas and the tilapia look delicious, and thats all that matters. I will be visiting this site for new meal ideas as i am getting tired of making ordinary and bland meals. Thanks!

  2. This was a great dish!! Just a little tip for getting in case you have really "fishy" tasting tilapia is to saok it in milk the night before you prepare it. :)

  3. I love to eat and try new things and eating healthy makes it even better. I tried the first recipe last weekend for my friends birthday and it was a complete success. I can't wait to try another one of your recipes and the fact that they are healthy my roommates(which are boys and hate veggies) have no idea that I'm feeding them healthy foods. Muhahaha!! So thanks for the recipe and for ones soon to come I can't wait!
